Comments for 2010

Thank you again for the opportunity to showcase my book and nurture my dream of a writing career.

Sincerely, Randy Andrews

Winner, Fantasy The Last Guardian of Magic by Randall Andrews

Ellen,

What an honor! It is so exciting to hear my book “Beating Ovarian Cancer” received a “Finalist Award” in the category of Women’s Issues. I am filled with gratitude for the judges who made this possible. This prestigious award will enhance my ability to educate women about this disease and to help support those in the battle.

Thank you so much – all of you.

Chris Bledy

To Ellen and The Indie Excellence Awards Staff,

Many, Many thanks to you for selecting my book of local, State of Florida, and national history "The Big Sand Dune and The Beach Lady" as a FINALIST in the Children's Non-Fiction category of the National Indie Excellence Book Awards.

This is a great honor for which I am exceptionally proud, but deeply humble.

Thanks again,
Annette Myers

Dear Ms. Reid,

I want to thank you and tell you how honored I am for Daria Rose and The Day She Chose to have been chosen as a finalist in the 2010 National Indie Excellence Awards. My daughter and I did the happy dance when we received your email!

Than you, Than you, Thank you

Yvonne Capitelli

Ellen, as a Finalist I am honored and humbled by this incredible award. Sharing in the awards with such an outstanding group of authors and independent book publishers has made this extraordinary journey especially meaningful. The selective process has to be difficult.

I appreciate the opportunity that you have provided to give a voice for those who have benefitted from selecting an independent publisher. As the author and artist, I had such inclusion in the entire editorial process with Beaver Pond Press.

Blessings to all of you..

Dear Ellen –

I want to thank you SO very much for the NIEA’s winning gift book award for The Dreamzappers!!! This is an incredible honor that I appreciate with all my heart.

With my marketing and PR background, I will do everything in my powers to promote the award and NIEA. In the very near future, once I work out the details of my publicity campaign and plan of marketing attack, I will be ordering stickers and more from your site. Meanwhile I wanted to let you know that I have received your notice and I sincerely thank you and NIEA for the outstanding commendation.

Best Regards –
Diane R. Wise

Ellen,

The enthusiasm friends have demonstrated for Yard Sale has been a lovely thing, but being named as a Finalist in the Indie Excellence Awards provided the critical external validation that was missing. I approach my desk each morning with new confidence thanks to you!

Bailout for the Brain -- Rewarding Quality Literature: The Aristotle Quest Receives First Prize in Eric Hoffer Awards, Honors in Indie Excellence Awards

Already the subject of much critical acclaim following a glowing review in The San Francisco Chronicle, The Aristotle Quest: Black Market Truth has just been chosen as the winner for Best Commercial Fiction in the 2009 Eric Hoffer Book Awards and "Finalist" in the Indie Excellence Awards

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) May 14, 2009 -- We take it for granted that quality deserves recognition, but in these tough economic times, it is more often cutting corners and minimizing cost at the expense of quality that are rewarded. In opposition to this trend the Eric Hoffer Book Awards and the National Indie Excellence Awards celebrate quality independent literature, and this year, Sharon Kaye's Black Market Truth, the first book in The Aristotle Quest: A Dana McCarter Trilogy has garnered high honors from both committees for its provocative message and probing social criticism.

Winning first prize in the commercial fiction category of the Eric Hoffer Awards and placing as a finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards, Black Market Truth is living up to the vision set by its publisher.

Brenda Bence’s book on personal branding, How You™ are like Shampoo: The breakthrough Personal Branding System based on proven big-brand marketing methods to help you earn more, do more, and be more at work, has won the First Place Award in the Audio Book: Non-Fiction category of the 2009 National Indie Excellence® Book Awards (NIEA™).

The Indie Excellence® Awards are awarded annually. The competition is judged by an independent panel of experts from all areas of the publishing industry, including editing, marketing, publicity, and design.

“It’s so gratifying to receive this recognition for the book,” says Bence. “My hope is that awards like this will allow the book to reach more people and help them in their careers. After all, President Obama’s use of personal branding is a dramatic example of how effective this process can be.”

Ellen:

I just wanted to say thank you to you and your staff for your hard work and diligence. I am totally flattered, humbled and very grateful for this very significant recognition. Thank you so very much!!

Dear Indie Excellence Staff,

I'm sorry that it's taken me so long to respond to the WONDERFUL news that my novel, "Love Leaves No One Behind" placed as a FINALIST in the National Indie Excellence 2009 Book Awards. I can't tell you how thrilled I am with the news. And I will be sending out my local media news release later on this evening.

Again, I thank you so very much for this great news! I've been unable to act on this due to illness and surgery, but I can assure you that I will do everything I can to promote my success and the incredible opportunity that your contest presents.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Ellen,

"I was surprised and delighted to see my book "Transform Stress Into Strength: Getting Control of your Life your Mind, and your Time" listed as one of the finalists in the 2009 NIEA book awards. The feedback I get from readers is overwhelmingly positive and they share with me how much the book has changed their lives. However, as an independently- published author, it's a constant struggle to reach a large audience so they can benefit from the message. Thank you for helping all of us in that quest."

All the best,

"A big THANK YOU to you, and the judges who selected my E-book Wisdom to Heal and Love Again as the winner for the E-book Non-Fiction category.

"After working on and off - for 33 years - to create, write, and publish this book, winning the INDIE EXCELLENCE award is heart confirming for me.

"Even when circumstances beyond my control prevented or delayed me from moving forward with the project - I kept my goal alive to make this book available for those who are suffering - so that they could learn to face loss, end heartache and heal a broken heart."

Thank you,

Georgia Roulo

"I was doubly honored to have my book receive two Indie Excellence Awards from your judges, one as a Finalist in Health and the other as a Winner in Men’s Issues. In fact, when notified of the second award a few days after the first, you could have knocked me over with a feather! If feels great to have the work of one’s hands recognized by an organization which prizes excellent content and style among independent publishers and authors."

"I'm thrilled to say that so far my book, "The Art of Everyday Joe: A Collector's Journal," has won five literary awards, one of which is the 2009 National Indie Excellence Book Award.  This award is one of the highest honors because it recognizes not just independent books, but independent spirit.  My books are about art, art collecting, artists and life in general.  Artistic insight and independent spirit are deeply entwined.  I think that this award is part of the same spirit that gives birth to great art, great writing and even an enlightened society if we're brave enough to take on the challenge."

'Journeys of Heartache and Grace' Garners Honorable Mention Indie Excellence Award

Melody Chatelle's inspiring and groundbreaking book, "Journeys of Heartache and Grace - Conversations and Life Lessons from Young People with Serious Illnesses" has garnered an Honorable Mention nod from the highly regarded Indie Excellence awards.

Dac Crossley pens westerns. He has two, thus far, to his credit. The first is called "Guns Across the Rio." It opens at the foot of an elaborate urinal.

The second - "Return of the Texas Ranger" - has enjoyed a glorious epilogue, winning the 2009 National Indie Excellence Awards for best western. The distinction helped land the high profile publicity event in his native state.

Hi Ellen,

I just wanted to let you know that I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Brian and his team at PTA. They have done everything they said they would and more. I would not hesitate to recommend their services and hope I have the opportunity to work with them more on this book and…of course…on my next book as well J

Thanks again for your part in this!
